CHMM® Examination and Overview Course Information
Computer-Based Testing (CBT) is here!
Computer-based testing for the CHMM credential is available at approximately 200 locations throughout the United States and Canada. Candidates will be advised of the exam registration procedures once their applications have been approved.
To see where the exam will be available, click here.
The CHMM examination will be operational in testing windows during the last two weeks of odd-numbered months. The schedule for the next six months is as follows:*
September 17-30, 2008
November 15-30, 2008
January 17-31, 2009
*Please note that most testing centers will likely be closed for federal holidays that fall within our testing windows. Each testing center has its own hours of operation and seating availability within our windows.
.
Applications must be approved by IHMM before an examination date may be scheduled. Once you are found eligible, you will receive instructions on registering for the test, and the exam fee will be charged at that time. (See Exam Content for more information on what is covered on the test.)
The non-refundable application fee (Fees) must accompany the application. Reference evaluations and official college transcripts may be forwarded separately, but must be received and evaluated before your eligibility can be determined. (Please note: Your application will expire after 18 months if there has been no activity toward certification.)
If you have a need for special accommodations at the exam site, please file your request in writing with your application.
Study Courses and Materials
Many CHMM candidates attend overview courses to prepare for taking the examination. Others rely on self-study materials. IHMM does not require any specific type of exam preparation or training, but provides the following information for the convenience of candidates. IHMM does not supervise, authorize, accredit or approve any overview course or study material.
To see a list of self-study materials, click here.
Use the map below to find information about overview courses.
IHMM application and exam fees do NOT cover courses; contact the course provider for registration and cost information. These courses are optional. The overview is primarily a refresher, and does not necessarily cover all the material in the examination. Arrangements for courses must be made directly with the course provider.
You are not required to take an overview course in order to take the examination.
Registering for an overview course does not automatically make you eligible to take the CHMM exam. You MUST file an application with IHMM.
