	Student Programs IHMM applauds the trend among colleges and universities to offer courses and degrees in hazardous materials, safety and environmental sciences. The sooner students are exposed to these important concepts, the more dedicated professionals we will eventually welcome into the work force. IHMM offers opportunities for students and young professionals who are considering careers involving or associated with hazardous materials management: Research Grant Program Over the past five years, IHMM has awarded a total of $100,000 in grants to graduate students doing research in hazardous materials management and/or environmental management. The next grants, for academic year 2008-09, will be awarded in the spring of 2008. Funding is awarded to research projects based on the proposals presented by the principal researcher or lead investigator (i.e., the professor in charge of the project). For details, click here. Hazardous Materials Manager-in-Training (HMMT) Program Undergraduate students may sit for the Hazardous Materials Manager-in-Training examination during their final semester before they receive their BA/BS degrees.
