A Special Benefit from the Veterans Administration
The CHMM Program is approved for reimbursement to eligible veterans and their dependents for the cost of the certification examination.
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) will reimburse the cost of the test only, not any of the other fees connected with the certification process. Just send a copy of your test results to the VA office that handles your education benefits.
You are an 'eligible' veteran if you qualify for the Montgomery G.I. Bill, or VEAP, or Dependents' Educational Assistance. For more details on eligibility requirements and reimbursement procedures, visit the VA web site at www.gibill.va.gov or call 1-888-GIBILL-1.
If you took the CHMM exam any time after October 2, 2002, and you meet the VA's eligibility requirements, you may file for reimbursement of the examination fee. Exam retake fees are also covered. If you did not keep your test results notice, you may receive a duplicate from our office. Call us at 301-984-8969, or e-mail us at info@ihmm.org.
There is a tremendous and growing need within the environmental, health and safety fields to develop a well-trained talent pool. For young men and women who have served our nation proudly and are returning home seeking a unique opportunity to re-enter the workforce, achieving the CHMM credential can provide a tremendous jump-start to a career in the hazardous materials industry.
Veterans, Take advantage of this opportunity -- You've earned it!
