Derek Falzoi, Winner of the 2024 Excellence in EHS Management Award

IHMM is proud to announce the winner of the 2024 Excellence in EHS Management Award.

Derek Falzoi is a Certified Safety and Health Manager (CSHM), a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), and a Certified Safety Professional (CSP). IHMM is proud to name Derek Falzoi as our 2024 winner of the 2024 Excellence in EHS Management Award. Recently received an Architect’s Safety Award “In recognition of consistently ensuring the occupational safety and health of the AOC through leadership, dedication, and adept expertise by taking an innovative approach to recognizing and investigating hazards to ensure they are completely remediated”. He was also selected by office to represent the Safety Division in the Architect of the Capitol’s 2024 Performance and Accountability Report (PAR), “Operate as One Team, Dedicated to One Mission” section, which mentioned “Derek’s leadership, dedication, and expertise as an Industrial Hygienist have impacted key safety initiatives and elevated overall safety standards at the Capitol campus”. Derek provides a level of exceptional, consistent, and high-quality performance.

Currently, Derek serves as a Chairperson for the Agency’s Occupational Safety and Health Community of Practice (OSH CoP) promoting collaboration and ISO 45001 safety management system strategies. He volunteered for the AOC and AIHA Mentorship Programs and recently accepted the At-Large Director position of the Board of Directors for AIHA’s Potomac Section. He also volunteers for AIHA’s TSCA Working Group,  Indoor Environmental Quality Committee, Exposure Assessment Strategies Committee, and Exposure & Control Banding Committee. To stay informed about emerging issues, Derek routinely attends AIHA Conferences, with the most recent being this year in Kansas City.
