Distinguished Diplomates are awarded only to Fellows of the Institute who have contributed noticeably and substantively to the field of hazardous materials management, dangerous goods transportation, environmental protection, health or safety communities of practice or to the development of IHMM credentials. Annual IHMM Excellence in EHS Management Award
Each year IHMM is proud to recognize the outstanding achievements and distinction of the CSHM, CSMP, or ASHM
that has made a worthy contribution to the communities of practice and the profession.
This award is usually given at the annual National Safety Council Congress.

Submit Exam Items
Current IHMM certificants may earn up to 20 Certification Maintenance Points (CMPs) every five-year cycle by submitting potential items for their certification’s examination.
To submit an examination item for consideration, please complete the IHMM Item Writing Confidentiality Agreement and Item Processing Sheet. Be sure to carefully review and follow the included Guidelines for Preparing Multiple-Choice Items.
