What or who motivated you to earn an IHMM credential?
My motivation came from wanting to strengthen the connection between the work I do in environmental compliance and the professional standards of the industry. I saw the IHMM credential as a way to formally demonstrate my expertise and commitment, while also holding myself accountable to the highest level of practice.
Are there any opportunities you’re looking forward to as a result of earning an IHMM credential?
I’m looking forward to expanding my reach beyond day-to-day compliance and into projects that have a broader impact — particularly in auditing and regulatory alignment. The credential also creates opportunities to build trust quickly, whether with regulators, clients, or colleagues, and I see that credibility opening doors to more leadership and national-level roles.
What would you say to someone who is considering earning an IHMM credential?
I would encourage them to pursue it. The process challenges you, but in doing so, it sharpens your knowledge and expands your perspective. Beyond the personal accomplishment, the credential signals that you are serious about this profession and committed to maintaining a high standard of practice. It’s a meaningful investment in your career and in the quality of work you deliver.
