What or who motivated you to earn an IHMM credential?
I joined my local ASSP chapter shortly before completing my degree in Occupational Safety from Eastern Kentucky University. During this time, I received invaluable advice from seasoned industry professionals, college professors, and coworkers. Many of them emphasized the importance of pursuing an IHMM credential. Obtaining an IHMM credential has not only enhanced my recognition in the field but is also paving the way for future career opportunities while additionally demonstrating a commitment to certification. Proving to yourself and others the seriousness with which you approach your profession.
Are there any opportunities you’re looking forward to as a result of earning an IHMM credential?
I am most looking forward to connecting with other professionals and expanding my knowledge of the industry. The fields of Safety and Environmental are vast, and it is impossible to learn everything independently. Networking and building rapport with other professionals in the industry are essential for a successful career, in my opinion.
What would you say to someone who is considering earning an IHMM credential?
I strongly encourage pursuing credentialing from a well-respected and established institution like IHMM. IHMM credentials are highly regarded due to their rigorous standards, strong ethics policy, and the exemplary work of the professionals who hold them. Achieving an IHMM credential is no small feat and therefore, is a significant accomplishment that paves the way for further professional growth and success.
