What or who motivated you to earn an IHMM credential?
I believe continuous education is essential in our field of work. Not only does it benefit me to be more confident in the decisions I make in my current position, it also allows me to build better relationships with personnel in efforts to mitigate hazards as much as possible. Overall, I would say that credentials like the CSHM help me obtain knowledge on how to continue to build a stronger safety culture with my employer and ensure personnel are leaving work in the same condition, if not better than, when they reported to work at the start of their shift.
Are there any opportunities you’re looking forward to as a result of earning an IHMM credential?
I wouldn’t necessarily say it is an opportunity, but I’m excited to implement the additional tools/knowledge learned from the CSHM credential to my workplace.
What would you say to someone who is considering earning an IHMM credential?
I would highly recommend proceeding with applying and work towards earning an IHMM credential. Though the scope of work for the EHS professional might be different company to company, IHMM offers a number of different credentials, and I’m sure there is a credential that fits their scope of work best. Additionally, if a candidate is seeking a different position, an IHMM credential will stick out on the individual’s resume showing they are dedicated to their profession.
