The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) recently issued an updated version of its Inspection Procedures for the Hazard Communication Standard (HCS 2024)  on May 19, 2026. The updated directive outlines the changes in enforcement due to the updated Hazard Communication Standard, 1910.1200, published in the Federal Register on May 20, 2024, and effective on July 19, 2024. For awareness, the first compliance date for manufacturers, importers and distributers was extended to May 19, 2026; see Section IX and Section X.J for additional information on compliance dates and transition period.
