The IHMM ASHM Committee, chaired by Jan G. Rosenberg, CSHM, is pleased to approve the addition of two degree programs submitted by Odessa College into IHMM’s ASHM Student Program: B.S. of Applied Arts and Sciences Leadership and Management Occupational Health and Safety Management.
Odessa College first joined as an IHMM approved school with their A.A.S. in Occupational Safety and Health Technology degree program and has been a longtime advocate, encouraging students to pursue IHMM’s Student ASHM credential while engaged in their undergraduate or graduate studies.
The Student ASHM Program is backed by IHMM’s Dr. John H. Frick Memorial Scholarship Program which annually makes $32,000 available to eligible Student CHMMs and Student ASHMs. IHMM is proud to have created and supported the Student ASHM program and Scholarship to advance students pursuing their future careers in the global environmental, health, and safety communities of practice.
The ASHM Committee oversees the development of and engagement with Student ASHMs and ASHMs, including but not limited to creating standards by which college graduates become eligible for credential, working with undergraduate and graduate schools to retain student applicants for the Student ASHM and ASHM credentials, and collaborating with the CSHM committee to ensure ASHM certificants’ continued growth by aligning a pathway to the CSHM.
