The Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Directorate has advised that the Canadian Emergency Response to Flammable Liquids Incidents in Transport (CERFLIT) training curriculum has been published on the Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs (CAFC)’s website.

This comprehensive training curriculum includes a series of online courses, resources, and supporting materials designed to train first responders in effectively managing incidents involving flammable liquids transported by rail or by road and has been designed to prioritize the safety of first responders, the public and communities. This training is structured into three (3) levels of learning to enhance response capabilities; Level 1 is freely accessible on the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP) website.

The Competency Guidelines for Responders to Incidents of Flammable Liquids in Transport, High-Hazard Flammable Trains have been updated. They will be published shortly on Transport Canada (TC)’s website.
